BreakOUT! and the Congress of Day Laborers are excited to be a part of the Out for Change Transformative Media Organizing Project (TMOP), which links LGBTQ and Two-Spirit organizers, media makers, and tech-activists across the United States. Used to support our Vice to ICE campaign, TMOP provided a platform for our two organizations to conduct a skillshare in February. We presented on ways in which art can be used to channel energy from membership bases to build a deeper understanding of the importance of solidarity between LGBTQ youth of color and Latinx immigrant communities. We shared examples of how to break language barriers and explore the healing nature of making together to communicate our struggles through art making, photography, puppetry, and more. You can check out a recording of the skillshare below!
